The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Miciop avoids it really well and circles away.
Miciop lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Miciop feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Miciop must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stensky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sobral has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Stensky to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Sobral is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Stensky pulls down on the head and he's put Sobral to sleep! This one is all over!

Hyuuku looks to land a combination but Tosen avoids it well.

Hyuuku is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tosen's half guard.

Hyuuku is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tosen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Hyuuku has control of Tosen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tosen regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Tosen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
