The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Menzies shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Pihl keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Menzies jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pihl manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Menzies stands up.
The crowd cheers as Menzies lands an impressive looking overhand right. Pihl doesn't seem phased though.
Menzies lands with a nice body punch.
Menzies getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Pihl tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Menzies manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Menzies is looking to break free of the clinch but Pihl has double underhooks.

Menzies is looking for a kimura but Pihl is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Menzies to get the leverage.

Pihl really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Menzies. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We're going to have a standup here because Steve Menzies wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Menzies connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Pihl tries to close the distance and clinch but Menzies swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Pihl is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Menzies can't fight it off and eventually Pihl manages to take the fight to the floor. Menzies looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Menzies jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strange walks into a straight right hand from Foran.
Foran's jab looks to have found its range, popping Strange under the eye.
Foran stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Strange closes the distance and clinches up with Foran, looking for a takedown. Strange pushes Foran against the cage but Foran circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Strange shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Foran as he jumps to the side.

and Strange takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kieran Foran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valko Strange.
Strange takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Strange shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Strange gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Strange takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Foran throws a shot to the body.
Foran catches Strange with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Strange tries to move into range but Foran moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Strange shoots in for a takedown but Foran shows good takedown defense.
Strange takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Foran lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Foran lunges at Strange with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Strange's hand.
Strange is trying desperately to land a takedown but Foran is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Strange.
Foran defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Strange.

Foran lands a slapping body shot.
Foran scores with a shot to the body.

Strange has his takedown stuffed

Strange on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Foran. Foran obviously looking to wear him down.
Kieran Foran is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Strange gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Foran.
Foran clobbers Strange with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Foran slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Foran lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Strange is still on wobbly legs! Can Foran finish him?
Foran scores with a hook.
A jab from Foran finds it's way through Strange's defenses.
Foran connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Strange momentarily.
Foran is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Whack! Foran lands a heavy head kick that drops Strange. The ref tackles Foran to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Strange was done.

Heero Yuy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Yuy looking for a sweep. Not yet Yuy, not yet.

Wazed remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Sheikh Hasina Wazed overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Yuy is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Wazed is controlling him well.

Bonan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Morbid Angel - Immortal Rites. Pixar Bonan told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!
