Askren throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tucker was covering up waiting for the punch and Askren finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Nugzarov shoots for a double leg takedown but Elite sprawls well. He's pushed Nugzarov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Elite is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Elite circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Nugzarov tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Elite wins by KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Killer Elite! Killer Elite retains his lightweight title!
After the fight, Killer Elite was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
