Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Astrud Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asiong Salonga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Salonga shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Salonga was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rivera throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Diaz was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lance Nasri.

Alberto Vasquez had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Alberto Vasquez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Li is pushing Vasquez up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Li lands a good knee to the midsection. Vasquez won't want to take too many of those.

Li drags the fight down to the ground.

Vasquez has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Li to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Vasquez is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Li pulls down on the head and he's put Vasquez to sleep! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Xiao Long Li thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
