Ashe instigates a clinch.

Shokan is trying to break the clinch but Ashe has him pressed against the cage.

Shokan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Shokan is standing up over Ashe. Ashe looks to escape but Shokan dives into side control.
Ashe is trying to buck Shokan off.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Ashe is trying to control Shokan's posture but Shokan avoids it.

Ashe tries to close the distance and clinch but Shokan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shokan avoids the head kick by Ashe.

Shokan throws a body punch but Ashe moves out of range.
Shokan leaves Ashe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ashe swats away the attempt to clinch by Shokan.

and Ashe counters with an outside leg kick.
Ashe misses with the combination.
Shokan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shokan scores with a one two! Ashe had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Shokan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A head kick misses from Ashe.
Shokan goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Goro Shokan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ashe gets a clinch.

Ashe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Goro Shokan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shokan misses with a two punch combination.
Shokan lands with a cross.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shokan misses with a few strikes there.
Ashe on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ashe throws a nice looking combination but Shokan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shokan tries to bum rush Ashe with a series of wild strikes but Ashe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ashe connects with a solid leg kick.
Ashe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shokan as he jumps to the side.
Goro Shokan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amethyst Ashe.
Ashe connects with a combination that backs up Shokan into the cage. Ashe lands a flurry of punches that gets past Shokan's guard. Shokan is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Ashe bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Rodrigues rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Eriksson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Eriksson shoots in for a takedown but Rodrigues shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Eriksson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rodrigues but Rodrigues pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Eriksson shoots in looking for a takedown but Rodrigues manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Eriksson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikael Eriksson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
