Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Rotten!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cory Smith!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Columbo Gatti and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith avoids the body shot from Rotten.
A chopping leg kick lands by Smith.
Rotten lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Smith showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rotten.
Smith digs a good body shot into Rotten's ribs.
Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rotten drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Smith controls Rotten momentarily but Rotten frees himself.
Smith wants to control the position but Rotten says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Smith is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Smith trying to hold on to Rotten's head to control him but Rotten postures up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Smith.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rotten accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Smith wants to control but Rotten passes easily into half guard.

Smith is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rotten pulls his head out easily.

Smith is trying to maintain the position but Rotten is very close to passing his half guard.
Rotten moves nicely into side control.
Smith tries to buck Rotten off but Rotten is having none of it.
You can see the frustration on Smith's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Rotten wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy.
Smith is looking for a sweep.
Rotten creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Smith sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Smith is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Rotten thows a huge punch but Smith dodges it nicely.
Smith is in trouble now - Rotten has advanced to mount!
Rotten looking to control but Smith is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Rotten swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Smith is now in Rotten's guard. A big mistake from Rotten there, giving up the dominant position!

Smith passes Rotten's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Rotten is trying to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith is taking a breather. Rotten says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Smith wants to take a breather but Rotten is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Cory Smith will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Thomaz Taylor.
Well Okar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
