Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Laurent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Barton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laurent comes to the cage accompanied by Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction. Barton comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Linchpin kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Laurent misses with a wild body shot.
Barton looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Barton defending well as Laurent loads up on a big left hand.
Barton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Laurent fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barton manages to avoid it.
Barton misses with a looping right.
Barton moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Laurent fails with an attempt to clinch.
Barton lands with a kick to the temple. Laurent shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Laurent bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Barton's head backwards.
The crowd cheers as Laurent lands an impressive looking overhand right. Barton doesn't seem phased though.
Barton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Laurent manages to avoid it.

Laurent fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Barton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Barton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Laurent.

Laurent lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Guillaume Leblanc will probably get the nod.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Jiu Jitsu tries to roll over but Blub keeps him under control.
Blub really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jiu Jitsu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Blub seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jiu Jitsu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bodybag swings for the body but Waters moves out of range.
Waters misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Waters lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Dwayne Waters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Waters throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Bodybag.
Bodybag tests Waters's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Dwayne Waters has been cut.
Waters walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Bodybag checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Nice uppercut lands for Waters. That snapped Bodybag's head back.

Bodybag lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Bodybag ducks under a wild hook from Waters.
Waters throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
