With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zolo Rogers!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chipchase closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rogers's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Rogers preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Rogers wants to stand but Chipchase is controlling the position.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cory Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Granite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Steel might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Immortal Technique-Point of no return. Granite has chosen Brokencyde - Get Crunk as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Granite takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Donk. Steel catches Granite right on the button with a cross.

It looks like Rocky Granite has been cut.
Granite tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Granite fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Granite ducks under a wild hook from Steel.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Steel looks to land a combination but Granite avoids it well.

and Steel counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Cory Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky Granite.
Steel throws the left hand but Granite avoids the punch easily.
Steel connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Granite is trying desperately to land a takedown but Steel is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Granite.
Steel lands a really nice looking cross but Granite seems unphased.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Granite takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

That has opened up Rocky Granite's cut even more.
Steel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Granite.
Granite is looking to clinch but Steel is avoiding it.
Steel throws a right hand that Granite ducks under and follows up with a left that Granite also avoids with ease.

Granite feints and as Steel raises his hands in defense, Granite changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Steel wants to stand but Granite is controlling the position.

Granite stands up over Steel, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Granite seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Steel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Steel has one foot on Granite's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Granite uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Steel.
Steel lands an overhand right.

The cut above Rocky Granite's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Steel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Granite dives in and grabs Steel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Steel pushes down on Granite's head and hops out.

Granite fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Steel to the ground. Granite is now in Steel's guard.

Steel uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Granite shoots for a double leg takedown but Steel sprawls well. He's pushed Granite's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Granite closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steel circles away.
Cory Steel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Granite staying out of range there.

Granite on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Steel throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Rocky Granite's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Steel takes one to the chin there.
Steel misses with a series of wild punches.
Granite is looking to clinch but Steel is avoiding it.
Steel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Granite was well out of range. Poor timing from Steel.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Steel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Steel wants it to stay on the feet.

In his post fight interview, Cory Steel started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
