Main event

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Connor Cozad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silik Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hunt's choice of entrance music: London Calling. Silik Hunt told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cozad's head backwards.
Cozad avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hunt keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hunt swings widly with a right hand
and Cozad cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hunt leaves Cozad with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Cozad walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hunt.
Hunt moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Cozad takes a head kick and keeps coming.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cozad manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hunt on his heels. He'll look to pass Hunt's guard now, I'm sure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cozad is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Cozad drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cozad jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Oh Cozad is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Cozad stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hunt.
Cozad looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Hunt fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cozad.
