Rock rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Melphy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rock lands a big right hook! Melphy looks hurt but is still standing! Rock lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Melphy falls down and Rock dives in with a huge hammer fist! Melphy's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Rock runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ninja Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ninja Rua had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 136.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Rodrigo Souza has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Souza looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Souza postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rua is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Souza, into his guard.
Rua seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ninja Rua just wasn't active enough.

Rua gets the takedown into side control.
Rua remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
