The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Talon drops Forefinger with a right and a left! Talon comes rushing in but Forefinger regains his composure and manages to keep Talon in guard.

Forefinger is rocked!

It looks like Fred Forefinger has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Talon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Forefinger is still on wobbly legs! Can Talon finish him?

Talon has managed to clinch.
Forefinger seems to have recovered his senses.
Forefinger is trying to break free.
Nice elbow from Forefinger.

Talon has Forefinger pressed against the ropes. He pushes Forefinger back and as he springs towards him off the ropes, Talon throws a beautiful elbow that sends Forefinger crashing to the floor! Talon piles on the pressure with more strikes! Forefinger is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miojo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Simmons to the mat! Simmons manages to get full guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Simmons is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Simmons not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Simmons wants to control but Miojo is keeping him busy.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miojo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Undercard bout

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Micha Johanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Micha Johanson had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 136.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black stuns King with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Black closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. King did well to prevent Black getting side control.

King strikes from the bottom but Black uses the opportunity to move to side control.

Black tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Black has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
King is trying to get back to half guard.
King tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Black just content to control the position.
Black cracks King with an elbow. That is naaassty.
King has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Black has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of King's face.

King is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
King is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
King tries to lock up and control but Black gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The referee warns King that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
King is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Viktor Black dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


King gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Black counters by clinching up.
Black blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Black breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
King jabs Black to the body, keeping him at a distance.
King lands with a good body shot.

King gets tackled into the ropes by Black. Black maintains the clinch.
King tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Black smiles and moves away.

Black bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
King wants to control but Black postures up.

Black wants to control but King is keeping him busy.
King tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Black wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
King is looking to regain half guard here but Black keeps moving and retains side control.
Viktor Black overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
King stops Black from passing to mount.
King is looking to reverse the position.
King throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

King can't do much from the bottom here.
King is trying to improve his position.
Black is putting a hurting on King here, landing some big shots from side control.

Black landing a few strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Black grinds an elbow into King's temple.
King is not content to let Black control the position.
King manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Black trying to control from half guard but King is working away.
King has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Black is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
King is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Black scores with a couple of nice shots.
Black winds up and cracks King with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

King is rocked!
Black scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
King is still in real trouble! Can Black finish him?

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Black lands a nice short elbow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
King on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
King tries to get to full guard but Black has control of the leg.
Black scores with a big shot! King's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save King! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

After winning the bout, Viktor Black thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
