The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russo lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Russo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Russo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Russo is looking to chop away at Sosa's legs.
Sosa throws a jab when Russo was well out of range.
Russo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sosa swivels and escapes.
Sosa throws a hook but Russo avoids it easily.
Sosa loads up on a big right hand but Russo slips the punch.
Sosa throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Russo feints a jab promting Sosa to slip. Russo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Sosa slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Russo takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Russo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sosa's head.
Sosa loads up on a big right hand but Russo slips the punch.
Russo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sosa pinned against the cage. Sosa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sosa missing with a left hand there. Russo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Russo scores with a takedown into Sosa's guard.
Russo postures up in Sosa's guard and throws a big left but Sosa blocks it.
Russo tries to free his leg and advance position but Sosa is retaining full guard.

Russo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Sosa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sosa tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Russo has gone for a leg lock! Sosa slips out almost immediately though and dives into Russo's guard.

Sosa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Sosa has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Russo to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Sosa is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Russo pulls down on the head and he's put Sosa to sleep! This one is all over!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rolen Spliffs!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spliffs checks the leg kick nicely there.
Spliffs uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kersikov.
Kersikov misses with a looping left.
Kersikov throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Spliffs counter with a right hand.
Spliffs fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kersikov.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kersikov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Spliffs has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Spliffs and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kersikov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spliffs moves away.
Kersikov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Spliffs.
A nice leg kick lands there from Spliffs.
That kick from Spliffs tenderised Kersikov's leg. Kersikov is trying to keep his angry face on.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Spliffs throws a nice outside leg kick.
Spliffs cracks the inside of Kersikov's front leg.
Spliffs turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Kersikov is breathing heavily.
Kersikov looks to score with a jab to the body but Spliffs is just out of range.
Nice uppercut lands for Spliffs. That snapped Kersikov's head back.
Kersikov takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kersikov on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Kersikov takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Kersikov is rocked!
Kersikov ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Oh Kersikov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kersikov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kersikov seems to have got his legs back now.
Kersikov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kersikov does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Kersikov takes one on the button.
Spliffs shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Kersikov takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Spliffs sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Kersikov bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

Rolen Spliffs decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
