The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lombard throws a sloppy head kick
and Benton makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Lombard throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Benton was covering up waiting for the punch and Lombard finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Benton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lombard can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lombard stands and steps away. Benton gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Benton gets caught flat footed, as Lombard shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Lombard throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Benton.

Benton reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Benton taps out! Nice BJJ there by Lombard !

After the fight, Haloti Gnata was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Bob shoots for a double leg takedown but Cartez sprawls well. He's pushed Bob's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bob will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bob fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cartez sprawls well initially but Bob persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Cartez kicks Bob off and gets back to his feet.

Cartez has Bob up against the cage in a clinch.
Bob is trying to drag Cartez to the mat but Cartez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round but I would say that Spanch Bob will probably get the nod.

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ad Santel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bull Brute (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santel kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Friday. Brute has chosen his teams song as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Bull Brute told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Brute lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Santel at a distance.
Santel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brute moves away.
Donk. Brute catches Santel right on the button with a cross.

Brute throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Santel tumbling to the canvas!

Santel is rocked!

It looks like Ad Santel has been cut.
Santel is breathing heavily.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Brute makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Brute arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Santel's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

A very excited looking Bull Brute rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Horrible takedown by Stanly or perhaps it was just good defense by Pimpovic which made him look bad.
Pimpovic gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Pimpovic's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Stanly connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Pimpovic scrambles back to his feet.
Stanly shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Pimpovic misses with a few strikes there.
Stanly Throws a clean left jab. Stanly Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Pimpovic's chin! Pimpovic crumbles to the ground and Stanly follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Stanly!

That was a close second round but I would say that Mahmut Demir will probably get the nod.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roosmalen throws a solid leg kick but IV takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Roosmalen.
Roosmalen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but IV swivels and escapes.
Roosmalen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Roosmalen there as he acknowledges the shot.
Nice uppercut lands for IV. That snapped Roosmalen's head back.
IV has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Roosmalen.
Roosmalen moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Horrible takedown by Roosmalen or perhaps it was just good defense by IV which made him look bad.
IV fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Roosmalen manages to avoid it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Roosmalen is defended easily by IV.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stefan Roosmalen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
IV throws a lazy right hand but Roosmalen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Roosmalen throws a leg kick which misses IV's front leg but catches the back leg as IV tries to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
IV takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Roosmalen throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
IV swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Omnus IV is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
IV lunges at Roosmalen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Roosmalen's hand.
IV pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
IV throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Roosmalen walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Roosmalen limp body while IV jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Omnus IV! Omnus IV retains his middleweight title!
After the fight, Omnus IV was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
