The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waters misses with a jab, cross combination.
Waters doesn't manage to clinch there - Simmi circles away.
Mac Waters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Waters fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Simmi manages to avoid it.

Simmi lands a big uppercut and Waters crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Waters looks OK. Simmi waves Waters back to his feet!

It looks like Mac Waters has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Simmi ducks under a wild hook from Waters.
Simmi slips under a jab from Waters.
Simmi throws a low kick but Waters moves out of range easily.
Simmi lands a nice shot to the body.
Waters is breathing heavily.

Simmi lands an uppercut, right on the button! Waters tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Percic tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Silva misses with a combination
and Silva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Silva takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Silva looks to land a combination but Percic avoids it well.
Percic takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Silva misses with a series of wild punches.

Silva ducks straight into an uppercut from Percic and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Silva manages to regain guard straight away.

Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Percic finish him?
Silva falls off balance throwing a combination
and Percic counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Silva off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Percic follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Silva was out before he hit the floor.

Triton doesn't manage to clinch there - Velasqs circles away.

Velasqs throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Velasqs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Velasqs tries to sprawl but Triton drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Velasqs is defending against the submission attempts here by Triton.
Velasqs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Triton is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Velasqs wants to get back to full guard.
Velasqs is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Velasqs is defending against the submission attempts here by Triton.

Triton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Velasqs defends it well.

Velasqs escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Triton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Triton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Velasqs manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Triton feints and as Velasqs raises his hands in defense, Triton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Triton will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Velasqs walks into a stiff left hand from Triton.

Velasqs has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Triton finds it's way round the side to connect with Velasqs's head.
Triton throws an overhand right that lands on Velasqs's shoulder, as Velasqs tries to avoid the shot.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Triton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Velasqs paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Triton is trying hard to land a takedown here. Velasqs sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Velasqs regains half guard there - taking advantage of Triton's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Triton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Velasqs was covering up waiting for the punch and Triton finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Triton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Velasqs swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Triton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


A looping hook to the body misses from Triton. Velasqs does a little dance to reset his feet.
Triton takes a kick to the side of the head.
Velasqs scores with a jab to the jaw.
Velasqs throws a head kick but Triton moves out of range.

Velasqs catches Triton with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Triton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Velasqs tries to avoid it but Triton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Velasqs to the ground. Velasqs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Triton fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Velasqs to the ground. Triton is now in Velasqs's guard.

Triton drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Velasqs dives on top into guard.

I would just about give that final round to Cain Velasqs.
