Tau doesn't manage to clinch there - Moore circles away.

Hegg lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Hegg closes this distance looking for a takedown but Canaan circles away.

Canaan clinches up with Hegg and pushes him back against the cage.
Canaan pushes Hegg back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Canaan tries to break free but Hegg pushes him back against the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for Canaan.

Hegg has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Canaan uses from the top position.

Canaan has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Hegg to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Canaan is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Hegg pulls down on the head and he's put Canaan to sleep! This one is all over!

Kane looks to land a combination. Clark sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Clark throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kane was covering up waiting for the punch and Clark finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGrady lands a jab to the nose.
Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McGrady avoids it really well and circles away.
McGrady throws a series of punches but Gracie avoids them all with ease.
Chris McGrady seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGrady fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gracie looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
McGrady connects with a body shot.

Gracie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McGrady, who protects the arm well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGrady can do anything to dispel that myth.

McGrady is looking for a sweep.
McGrady pushes Gracie away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gracie gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McGrady is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGrady tries to bench press Gracie off him but Gracie keeps the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGrady seems a little lost for a moment, as Gracie dominates the positioning.
Gracie lands a nice forearm strike.
Gracie working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
McGrady is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
McGrady is not content to let Gracie control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Gracie has an Americana. McGrady didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gracie is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gracie hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
