The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Peterson.

Peterson drives through and clinches with Guus against the cage.

Peterson jumps guard and drags Guus to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Guus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Guus drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Guus jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Guus drops back looking for a leg! Peterson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Peterson manages to kick Guus off! Guus jumps back into Peterson's guard.

Guus drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Guus jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peterson trying to hold on to Guus 's head to control him but Guus postures up.
Guus lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Guus is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Guus should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Guus looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Peterson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Guus on the ground.

Clegane turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Clegane manages to end up in side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Clegane has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Clegane looking to control but Spartak is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Clegane gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Spartak backs away from a small jab... but Clegane lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Spartak crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Clegane with a spectacular finish!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wade closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Michaels can do anything to dispel that myth.

I would just about give that final round to Jason Michaels.
