And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clyde Renato!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Renato fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Tibs fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Renato on the side of the head.
Tibs lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Tibs keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A chopping leg kick lands by Tibs.

Renato uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tibs.

Tibs clobbers Renato with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Renato scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

and Tibs counters with a body kick that stops Renato in his tracks momentarily.
Muay Tibs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tibs throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tibs takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Tibs with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Clyde Renato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Renato lands with an overhand left.
A telegraphed right hand from Renato misses the target.
Tibs avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Tibs.
Renato tries for a takedown but Tibs sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Muay Tibs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clyde Renato.
Renato tries to bum rush Tibs with a series of wild strikes but Tibs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zeh Duarte!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duarte misses with a jab, cross combination.
Duarte is looking to clinch but Banner is avoiding it.
Banner keeps the fight on the outside.

and Banner counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Duarte's guard now.
Banner with a flurry of punches that miss.
Banner missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Duarte is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Banner drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Banner jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Duarte utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Banner drops back, looking for a kneebar! Duarte looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Duarte looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Duarte!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Banner gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Banner is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Duarte is looking to take a break and control but Banner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Banner is trying to maintain the position but Duarte is very close to passing his half guard.
Banner is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Duarte is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Duarte wants to stand but Banner has his arm trapped.
Banner is trying to control Duarte's posture but Duarte avoids it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Duarte is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bruce Banner.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Banner drops back looking for a leg! Duarte is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Duarte manages to kick Banner off! Banner jumps back into Duarte's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duarte ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Banner moves away.

and Banner counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Duarte!

Banner has control of Duarte's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Duarte regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Banner is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Duarte to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Duarte shrugs it off.

Duarte is bucking up trying to escape but Banner cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Banner swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Duarte is now in Banner's guard. A big mistake from Banner there, giving up the dominant position!

Duarte really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Banner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Banner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Duarte gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Duarte takes a decent strike to the side of the head.

Duarte wanted to stand there but Banner had control of the position.

Duarte stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Banner throws up his legs and catches Duarte in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Duarte tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Banner! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Bruce Banner!
