The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spicer tries to land a front kick but Nero steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Nero tries to keep at a distance but Spicer has taken the fight into the clinch.
Spicer has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nero is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Spicer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Nero turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Nero manages to end up in side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Nero working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Nero creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Spicer sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Nero wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Spicer, who protects the arm well.
Spicer throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Spicer can't do much from the bottom here.

Roofie is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

Pappy Roofie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kickass looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Roofie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Roofie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Roofie lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
