The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lenogue looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ridpath is fending him off so far but Lenogue persists. Nope, Ridpath circles away and we're back to standing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorpe blocks a head kick by Hill.
Thorpe dodges the punch combination from Hill.
Hill throws a head kick but Thorpe moves out of range.

Hill tries to sprawl but Thorpe drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hill is looking for a sweep. Thorpe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Thorpe tries to pass to full mount but Hill defends it.

Hill throws a leg kick which misses Thorpe's front leg but catches the back leg as Thorpe tries to avoid it.
Hill feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Thorpe's calf.
Hill lands a brutal head kick. Thorpe looks out on his feet and Hill throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Salabim stops Gambacorto from getting back to his feet.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Salabim in particular looking to stall.
Gambacorto is trying to stand.
Salabim wants to pass to mount but Gambacorto is defending the position.
Salabim thows a huge punch but Gambacorto dodges it nicely.

Gambacorto is not content to let Salabim control the position.

Salabim drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gambacorto manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Salabim has Gambacorto in his guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gambacorto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Salabim swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
