The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calzaghe dives in and grabs Genovese's left leg, looking for a takedown. Genovese pushes down on Calzaghe's head and hops out.
Genovese throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Calzaghe throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Genovese counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Calzaghe thinking.
Genovese fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Horrible takedown by Calzaghe or perhaps it was just good defense by Genovese which made him look bad.
