The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Segurado tries to sprawl but Jonsson drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Tobias comes into a darkened arena with his song building. You're Cut Off- Municipal Waste kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Anton Tobias told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kasara Eachuryno!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smoke fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Eachuryno looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hixson Smoke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smoke displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Eachuryno.
Eachuryno swings widly with a right hand

and Smoke counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Smoke winds up and cracks Eachuryno with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Eachuryno gets full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smoke is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

It looks like Kasara Eachuryno has been cut.
Smoke wants to pass the guard but Eachuryno is keeping the position.
Smoke throwing strikes but missing.
Smoke trying to control the position from guard on top but Eachuryno is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Eachuryno has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Smoke off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Eachuryno is looking to clinch but Smoke is avoiding it.
Smoke stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smoke wants it to stay on the feet.
Eachuryno moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Eachuryno has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Eachuryno there as he acknowledges the shot.

That has opened up Kasara Eachuryno's cut even more.

Smoke closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Eachuryno did well to prevent Smoke getting side control.

Smoke drops an elbow to the side of Eachuryno's head.
Smoke scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Smoke looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Smoke winds up and cracks Eachuryno with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Smoke is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Eachuryno is hurt! He's hurt bad - Smoke fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Eachuryno from any more punishment! Congratulations to Smoke! Great finish!

Velazquez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Velazquez scores with a hook to the body. Glover takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Velazquez throws a jab but it's blocked by Glover .
Velazquez throws a hook but Glover blocks it.
Velazquez throws a lazy right hand but Glover sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Glover dodges the punch combination from Velazquez.
Velazquez takes a swing at Glover 's ribcage but misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Glover . Velazquez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Glover works the jab nicely.
Glover throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Glover waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Velazquez.
Velazquez misses the jab.
Velazquez misses with a straight left.
Velazquez thuds his right hand into Glover 's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

It looks like Larry Glover has been cut.

Glover digs a good hook to Velazquez's body.

Velazquez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Glover was well out of range. Poor timing from Velazquez.

Glover scores with a one two! Velazquez had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Velazquez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
A swing and a miss from Velazquez.
Glover swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Glover tries to bum rush Velazquez with a series of wild strikes but Velazquez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Velazquez fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Glover throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Velazquez darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Glover is rocked!
Glover is aggressively charging in as Velazquez backs up avoiding any damage. Velazquez tosses out a jab and Glover runs right into it face first! Glover is out cold! Velazquez dropped down on all fours and is barking in Glover 's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ari Velazquez!
Our winner, Ari Velazquez, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
