The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lombard throws a series of punches but Spar avoids them all with ease.

Spar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lombard looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Spar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lombard is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Spar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lombard knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lombard is trying to buck Spar off.
Lombard sneaks back into half guard.
Lombard wants to get back to his feet.

Spar maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Lombard could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Spar has cracked it and Lombard is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Spar!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua closes the distance and clinches up with Wright, looking for a takedown. Rua pushes Wright against the ropes but Wright circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wright slips a jab and a cross from Rua.
Rua moves in looking to clinch but Wright pushes him off.
Rua shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rua moves forwards but Wright connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Rua is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wright sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mauricio Rua. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wright throws a shot from downtown. Rua moves away and avoids it.
Rua shoots in looking for a takedown. Wright tries to sprawl out of it but Rua keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Wright manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wright throws a jab when Rua was well out of range.
Wright throws a shot from downtown. Rua moves away and avoids it.
Wright looks to land a left hand but Rua moved out of range nicely.
Rua steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wright.
Wright misses with a hook.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rua shoots in and drives through. Wright sprawls well.
Rua shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rua displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wright throws out the jab.
Wright misses with a lunging right hand

and Rua counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Wright!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Rua working for a submission but Wright is keeping him at bay.

Rua is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Rua extends the arm and Wright is forced to tap!
