The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gant changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Gant manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gant feints and as Brown raises his hands in defense, Gant changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Brown is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gant got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gant has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted.

Gant has hold of Brown's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Brown tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gant cranks the arm and Brown screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Brown, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Semenov on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Semenov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Damascus was covering up waiting for the punch and Semenov finishes the takedown easily into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Semenov is looking to work some ground and pound but Damascus has wrist control.

Semenov seems to have locked his on tight now - Damascus screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Semenov, as he picks up the win!

Pucci throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Gerard tries to bum rush Pucci with a series of wild strikes but Pucci uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gerard throws a looping overhand right but Pucci ducks down to avoid it.
Pucci walks into a jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pucci throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gerard.
Hugh Pucci seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pucci closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Pucci has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pucci there as he acknowledges the shot.
Pucci misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Gerard avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gerard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Pucci needs to keep his hands up - Gerard had a free shot at his head there.

Pucci throws a right hand that misses
and Gerard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Pucci tries to keep at a distance but Gerard has taken the fight into the clinch.
Gerard lands a body punch in the clinch.
Gerard breaks from the clinch.

Gerard lunges at Pucci with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pucci's hand.
Pucci takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Gerard clinches up against the cage.
Gerard digs a right hand into Pucci's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Pucci's gas tank.
Pucci looks gassed!

Gerard stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gerard creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Gerard breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gerard loads up on a big right hand but Pucci slips the punch.
Pucci is still on wobbly legs! Can Gerard finish him?
Pucci drops his hands momentarily. Gerard doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Pucci staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Pucci doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gilles Gerard!
