The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gant changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Gant manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gant feints and as Brown raises his hands in defense, Gant changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brown keeping moving, preventing Gant from controlling successfully.

Brown is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gant showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Gant tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard.

Brown is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Brown is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gant is aware though and is defending well.
Gant controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Gant passes easily into side control. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brown manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gant's best efforts.

Gant is looking for a kimura but Brown is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gant to get the leverage.

Gant stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brown swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gant got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gant has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted.

Gant is looking to take a break and control but Brown is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gant tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Brown is not content to let Gant control the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Brown wants to control but Gant postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gant tries for a kimura but Brown is defending well.

Gant has hold of Brown's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Brown tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gant cranks the arm and Brown screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Brown, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Omar Gant!
Omar Gant very nearly forgot to thank Crippler's Corner amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Damascus as he connects with a hook.
Semenov on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Semenov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Damascus was covering up waiting for the punch and Semenov finishes the takedown easily into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Semenov is looking to work some ground and pound but Damascus has wrist control.
Damascus keeping moving, preventing Semenov from controlling successfully.
Semenov with a flurry of punches that miss.
Semenov postures up in Damascus's guard and throws a big left but Damascus blocks it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Semenov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Damascus works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Semenov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Semenov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Semenov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Damascus is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Semenov works to advance to full mount. Damascus defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Semenov seems to have locked his on tight now - Damascus screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Semenov, as he picks up the win!

Oh but Holic is tightening it up a little... Jones has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Jones reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Jones taps out! Nice BJJ there by Holic!

Koscheck will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Cavalcante Ribeiro up against the cage.

Cavalcante Ribeiro has control of Koscheck's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Koscheck regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Oh Fitch is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters circling a little - Chuwattana finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Chuwattana drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Fitch right on the button. Fitch goes down! Chuwattana follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Chuwattana gets the win via TKO!

Gerard lunges at Pucci with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pucci's hand.
Pucci takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gerard creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Gerard loads up on a big right hand but Pucci slips the punch.
Pucci is still on wobbly legs! Can Gerard finish him?
Pucci drops his hands momentarily. Gerard doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Pucci staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Pucci doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gilles Gerard!
