The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dutra closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dutra lands in his opponent's guard.

Ciechan has his hands clasped together but Centkiewicz extends an breaks Ciechan's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Centkiewicz.

Vvit loads up on a big right hand but Falar slips the punch.
Oh Falar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Vvit lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Falar is looking to close the distance but Vvit sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Falar crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Falar is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

Silvas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Carter should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Silvas is struggling to control the position.

Silvas breaks from the clinch.
Carter tries for a takedown but Silvas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Carter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Silvas sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Silvas tries to land a leg kick but Carter saw it coming and moves away.
Carter misses with a takedown attempt - Silvas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Carter has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Silvas.
Silvas throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Silvas connects with a high kick.

It looks like Nate Carter has been cut.
Silvas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Carter as he jumps to the side.

Silvas clinches with his opponent.

Silvas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Carter is trying desperately to land a takedown but Silvas is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Carter.

Silvas has closed the distance and engaged Carter in a clinch.
Carter is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Silvas lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Silvas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Silvas lands with a thumping leg kick.
Silvas throws a nice outside leg kick.
Silvas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Carter takes a knee right on the jaw!

Silvas leaning his opponent against the cage.
Silvas using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Carter has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Silvas is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Carter is defending well for now.
Carter wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Silvas manages to break the clinch.
Carter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silvas's waist but Silvas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carter off to one side.
Carter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silvas avoids it really well and circles away.
Silvas moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Nate Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nice takedown defense from Carter. No joy for Silvas on that attempt.
A head kick misses from Silvas.
Silvas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silvas somewhat.
Carter takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Carter has managed to clinch.

Silvas breaks the clinch.
Carter takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silvas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Silvas enables Carter to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Silvas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Carter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silvas is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Nate Carter's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Silvas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Carter.
Silvas slaps away a takedown attempt from Carter, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Carter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Silvas is trying to defend but Carter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Silvas moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Chilavert lands a big head kick that sends Hernandez tumbling to the mat! Chilavert takes a step backwards and waves Hernandez back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Chilavert fails with an attempt to clinch.
Chilavert looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Chilavert backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Hernandez's temple! It sends Hernandez violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Chilavert celebrates and the doctors try to help Hernandez!
