The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markku throws a half hearted mid kick.
Smith leaves Markku with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Smith takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Markku moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Markku.
Smith lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Smith steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Markku. That one must have hurt.
Smith thows a body shot but no joy.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gleb Jiglov.
