The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Overeem moves out of range of the body kick.
Overeem throws a head kick but This Bastard moves out of range.
Overeem is looking to clinch.
Overeem doesn't manage to clinch there - This Bastard circles away.

This Bastard closes the distance and pushes Overeem back into the cage.

This Bastard breaks the clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Overeem. Those never looked like landing.

This Bastard rushes Overeem and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Overeem is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

McNeil jabs Gotts to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gotts keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and McNeil counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McNeil.
Gotts pulls McNeil in close to prevent any damage.
McNeil's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Gotts controls McNeil momentarily but McNeil frees himself.

Blimm tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kelly paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kelly ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Kelly tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Blimm was well out of range. Poor timing from Kelly.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vincent Valentine!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hendricks moves away.
Hendricks slips a jab and a cross from Valentine.
Hendricks tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Valentine is able to avoid easily.
Hendricks slaps away a takedown attempt from Valentine, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hendricks takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Johny Hendricks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hendricks takes a swing at Valentine's ribcage but misses.
Hendricks walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Valentine checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hendricks lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Valentine has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Valentine and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Valentine jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hendricks manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Valentine has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hendricks is working away from the top position though.
Valentine wants to control the action here but instead Hendricks manages to pass to full mount!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Valentine doesn't have the hooks in and Hendricks manages to turn into his guard.
Hendricks wants to control from the top but Valentine keeps moving.
Hendricks slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Valentine is looking for a triangle but Hendricks pushes his legs off easily.

Valentine escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hendricks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Valentine has his foot on Hendricks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hendricks works his way back into a safe position though.

Hendricks got a little sloppy there for a moment and Valentine has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hendricks has managed to get both his arms back between Valentine's legs - danger averted.

Hendricks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hendricks in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hendricks throws a big right hand that misses.

Hendricks has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Valentine to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Hendricks is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Valentine pulls down on the head and he's put Hendricks to sleep! This one is all over!

and Machete cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Starner's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Machete throws an overhand right that lands on Starner's shoulder, as Starner tries to avoid the shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Starner misses the target.
Machete throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Starner on the side of the head.
Starner moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Starner throws an off balance right hand
and Machete counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Machete looks at the referee who does nothing so Machete lands a crushing right that sends Starner to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
