A right-left combo lands from Kim.
Vieira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kim tries to avoid it but Vieira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kim to the ground. Kim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ellis comes to the cage accompanied by her song. Uusierkki comes into a darkened arena with his song building. E-Z Rollers - Haze kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Uusierkki clinches up with Ellis and pushes him back against the cage.
Ellis jumps guard but Uusierkki stands there with Ellis around his waist. Ellis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Uusierkki tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Uusierkki jumps guard and drags Ellis to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Ellis has gone for a leg lock! Uusierkki slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ellis's guard.

Ellis seems to be working for a kimura but Uusierkki defends the submission attempt.

Ellis wants to work for an arm triangle but Uusierkki is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Ellis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Uusierkki is just riding it out for now. Ellis eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Uusierkki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ellis is working away from the top position though.

Ellis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Ellis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Uusierkki doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ellis.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ellis is trying to work for a kimura but Uusierkki is defending well.
Ellis wants to free his trapped foot but Uusierkki is holding on for dear life with his legs.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Christina Ellis will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Uusierkki turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Uusierkki manages to end up in side control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Uusierkki connects with a nice short shot to Ellis's temple.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
