The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Maeda wants it to stay on the feet.
Max throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maeda.

Max has closed the distance and engaged Maeda in a clinch.
Maeda is pressed up against the cage. Max has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Maeda down to the mat. Maeda avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Maeda doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Max counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Maeda utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maeda has his foot on Max's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Max works his way back into a safe position though.

Maeda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Max swivels though and keeps the full guard.

magners postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Zabitz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of magners, into his guard.
Zabitz wants to stand but magners has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
magners pulls Zabitz in close to his closed guard and prevents Zabitz from doing any damage or advancing position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eli Zabitz.
I think Zabitz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from cook.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Laudinum.
Laudinum throws a right hand that cook ducks under and follows up with a left that cook also avoids with ease.
Laudinum slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

It looks like ben cook has been cut.
Laudinum tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Laudinum misses with a low kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Laudinum. cook does a little dance to reset his feet.
cook takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

cook checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Laudinum throws a leg kick but cook sees it coming and checks it nicely.

cook shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Laudinum as he jumps to the side.
Laudinum throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Laudinum throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Laudinum throws out a leg kick but cook moves out of range and Laudinum only half commits.

Laudinum lands a big head kick that sends cook tumbling to the mat! Laudinum takes a step backwards and waves cook back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
cook changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Laudinum tries to avoid it but cook manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Laudinum to the ground. Laudinum escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Londre Laudinum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of ben cook.

Laudinum connects with a stiff jab that staggers cook - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
