Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Santos screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams lands with an uppercut that bounces Alvarez off the ropes and back into range.
Williams is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Alvarez.
Alvarez pivots, looking for a leg kick but Williams is out of range and Alvarez settles back down.
Alvarez takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Williams doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Alvarez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Williams counters with a crisp right that sends Alvarez to the canvas! Williams follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
