The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huang fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Malkowsky.

Malkowsky fails with an attempt to clinch.
Malkowsky throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Huang's waist but Huang gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Malkowsky off to one side.
Huang throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Huang lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Huang shoots in and bounces Malkowsky off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

George Huang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Huang feints and then cracks Malkowsky's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Malkowsky down.

Jack Shields struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. It looks like Franco Schiraz has been cut.

Timmons feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Schiraz sprawling to the canvas! Schiraz rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Timmons finish him?!

Schiraz is fighting off a takedown attempt but Timmons is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Schiraz to the mat. Schiraz regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Schiraz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Timmons can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Schiraz has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Timmons is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Schiraz.
