Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fedex has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Fedex there as he acknowledges the shot.
Fedex shoots and misses

and Vieri counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Vieri.
Vieri pushes Fedex back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Vieri lands a hook to the side of the head.
Fedex takes a shot to the head.
Vieri lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Fedex.
Vieri throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Fedexs head.
Vieri lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Fedex drops down looking for an ankle pick but Vieri pulls his leg out and moves away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fedex takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Donk. Vieri catches Fedex right on the button with a cross.
Vieri keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Vieri cracks Fedex with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Vieri has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Fedex to stand back up!

It looks like Iso Fedex has been cut.
Vieri comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Oh Fedex is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vieri looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Vieri backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Fedex's temple! It sends Fedex violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Vieri celebrates and the doctors try to help Fedex!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Erkki Vieri!
After winning the bout, Erkki Vieri thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
