Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Compton tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Compton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Guerrero tries to land a front kick but Ojurere steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ojurere throws a nice looking combination but Guerrero bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Cardosa moves out of range of the body kick.

Cardosa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wakizashi tries to avoid it but Cardosa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wakizashi to the ground. Wakizashi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Wakizashi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Cardosa takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cardosa pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Wakizashi - that will leave a mark!
Wakizashi throws out a loose jab but Cardosa uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kabuto Wakizashi dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Wakizashi throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Cardosa's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Wakizashi dives in looking to finish as Cardosa flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Wakizashi's strikes! Wakizashi is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Cardosa's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Cardosa was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
