The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leffe moves out of range of the strikes.
Leffe is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Betoni's half guard.

Betoni is staying active underneath Leffe, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Leffe looks to land a strike but Betoni avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Leffe wants to control from the top but Betoni keeps moving.
Betoni pulls Leffe in close to prevent any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Leffe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Leffe trying to control the position from guard on top but Betoni is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Betoni controls Leffe momentarily but Leffe frees himself.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Leffe misses with a lunging right hand
and Betoni counters with a nice low kick that buckles Leffe's knee momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Leffe lands a right hook to the body.
Betoni moves away from the strike by Leffe.
Leffe throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Betoni counters with a good low kick that Leffe was not able to check.

Betoni throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Leffe stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Leffe doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Leffe stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Betoni.

Betoni connects with a leg kick. Leffe looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Joni Betoni is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Leffe with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Betoni to score with a decent uppercut.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Betoni! Leffe is out on his feet! Betoni rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Leffe is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Leffe is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
