The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stone has closed the distance and engaged Roman in a clinch.
Roman has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Stone after a bit of a struggle.
Roman stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Roman is trying to break free.
The referee calls for Stone to work.
Stone fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Stone is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Roman lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Roman has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Stone regains guard immediately.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Paul Stone hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Roman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Roman cracks Stone with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Stone takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Roman throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Stone on the side of the head.

Roman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Stone is still on wobbly legs! Can Roman finish him?
Roman misses with a looping left.
Roman looks to throw the jab but Stone is out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roman throws a looping overhand right but Stone ducks down to avoid it.

Roman is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Stone is in big trouble! Roman is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Stone. Poor guy.

Kumara misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Fowler stuffs the takedown.

and Fowler counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Chase Fowler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adu Kumara.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Fowler throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Fowler frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kumara tries to hold on but Fowler postures up.
Kumara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fowler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fowler lands a nice shot to the head.

It looks like Adu Kumara has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fowler has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kumara's face.

Fowler looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Fowler is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kumara can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fowler is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Fowler extends the arm and Kumara is forced to tap!
