Rayez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Yamohara is trying to keep Rayez in close.
Yamohara wants to sweep but no luck.
Rayez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yamohara swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rayez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Yamohara is looking for a sweep.
Yamohara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rayez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rayez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Yamohara knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pacman pushes Deeznutz away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Deeznutz gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Pacman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Deeznutz shoots in looking for a takedown. Pacman tries to sprawl out of it but Deeznutz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pacman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Deeznutz doesn't manage to clinch there - Pacman circles away.
Deeznutz throws a front kick aimed at Pacman's knee but Pacman avoids it well.

Pacman lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Deeznutz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pacman as he jumps to the side.

Deeznutz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Deeznutz lands in his opponent's guard.

Deeznutz closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Deeznutz uses his free foot to push down on Pacman's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pacman.
BOOM! Deeznutz connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Deeznutz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Deeznutz looking to secure an arm triangle but Pacman defends it well.

Deeznutz is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pacman is surviving well by controlling Deeznutz's body position as best he can.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Deeznutz has control of Pacman's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pacman regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Aria Sr has the hooks in. Sakurai is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

I think Ishii might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Insane in the membrane by Cypress Hill. The crowd seem to be enjoying Haliti's choice of entrance music: unikkatil-mos shaj mas shpine remix. Genc Haliti struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ishii shoots in but no luck this time.
Ishii shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Haliti as he avoids it easily.

Ishii drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ishii lands a couple of elbows.

Ishii thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ishii stands and throws Haliti's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Haliti tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ishii wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ishii is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Haliti defends it well.

Ishii is looking for a kimura but Haliti is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ishii to get the leverage.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Ishii is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Ishii cracks Haliti with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Haliti tries to lock up and control but Ishii gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Haliti is in all sorts of trouble here.

Ishii has control of Haliti's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Haliti regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Ishii lands a big shot there that rocks Haliti but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Ishii is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Haliti has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Haliti!

Ishii is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Haliti has his hands clasped together but Ishii extends an breaks Haliti's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Ishii.

Trinidad shoots in but Mok avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mok keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Trinidad circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mok tries to clinch up.
Mok is looking to clinch.
Trinidad closes the distance and clinches up with Mok, looking for a takedown. Trinidad pushes Mok against the cage but Mok circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Trinidad. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Trinidad shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mok as he avoids it easily.

Mok is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Mok is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Trinidad jumps guard but Mok stands there with Trinidad around his waist. Trinidad gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mok escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Trinidad closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Trinidad lands in his opponent's guard.

Trinidad has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Trinidad thows a big elbow that misses.
Mok is trying to control the position but Trinidad postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Trinidad looks for a takedown but Mok sprawls well.

Trinidad bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Trinidad wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mok, who protects the arm well.
You can see the frustration on Mok's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Mok really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trinidad. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mok pushes Trinidad away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Trinidad gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Trinidad tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mok can do anything to dispel that myth.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Trinidad jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mok manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Mok tries to buck Trinidad off but Trinidad is having none of it.

Trinidad has hold of Mok's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Mok tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Trinidad cranks the arm and Mok screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Mok, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
