That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pentti Ali.

Stigu kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sabrina-Boys. Vladimirov has chosen Pelageya & Darya Moroz - Walking through a field with a horse as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Stigu throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Vladimirov counters with a series of strikes. Stigu will be more careful next time no doubt.

A thudding body kick lands there by Vladimirov!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stigu moves out of range of the body kick.
Stigu bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

It looks like Fedor Vladimirov has been cut.

and Vladimirov counters with an outside leg kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Vladimirov.

A punch lands to the side of Stigu 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Stigu throws a right hand that misses
and Vladimirov counters with a leg kick.
Stigu is breathing heavily.

Stigu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vladimirov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A combination from Stigu does no damage.

and Vladimirov makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Stigu really felt that one!
Stigu throws a poor cross that misses
and Vladimirov counters with a left to the body.
Stigu on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

It looks like Mr Stigu has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vladimirov throws a shot to the body.
Vladimirov listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Vladimirov misses with a wild combination.
Vladimirov lands a nice shot to the body.

Stigu throws a jab but it's blocked by Vladimirov.

Stigu walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Vladimirov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
No joy there for Stigu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vladimirov walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Stigu drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Vladimirov swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Stigu's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fedor Vladimirov!
