Undercard bout

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between ALtropos Lion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirty Randy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Dirty Randy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

That was a close second round but I would say that ALtropos Lion will probably get the nod.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hogan blocks a head kick by Burgundy.
Burgundy scores with a hook to the body. Hogan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Burgundy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hogan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hogan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Burgundy circles away.

Burgundy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Hogan pushes Burgundy off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Burgundy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hogan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Burgundy circles away.
Hogan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ron Burgundy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hulk Hogan .

Fowler is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Carver sees it coming and defends easily.

Fowler is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carver defends it well.

Carver is defending against the submission attempts here by Fowler.
Carver flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Fowler uses his free foot to push down on Carver's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Carver.

Fowler swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

Anthony shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Jones is desperately trying to improve his position but Anthony has a good base and remains in mount.
Anthony avoids the attempt from Jones to control.
Jones is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Jones keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jones wants to control but Anthony is having none of it.
Jones bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Anthony striking off his back but it's not causing Jones any problems.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Anthony working for a triangle but Jones defends it easily.
Jones makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Anthony escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jones has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Anthony to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Jones is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Anthony pulls down on the head and he's put Jones to sleep! This one is all over!

William Anthony retains his heavyweight title!
After winning the bout, William Anthony thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Sloppy strikes from Clay. Those never looked like landing.
Michaels shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clay but Clay pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Clay misses with a combination

and Michaels counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Clay!

Michaels is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Clay can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Clay can do anything to dispel that myth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Michaels working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Clay looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Michaels! Submission of the night perhaps?
