Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommy McTowlie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yamamoto Takiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McTowlie tries to clinch there but Takiyama circles away.
McTowlie closes the distance looking to clinch

and Takiyama counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McTowlie's guard now.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Takiyama trying to control the position from guard on top but McTowlie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McTowlie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Takiyama is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

McTowlie decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Takiyama avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

McTowlie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Takiyama moves away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Takiyama lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McTowlie has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McTowlie and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Takiyama shoots in for a takedown but McTowlie shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
