Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Silva is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Silva is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.

Gusta is trying to push Dale away but Dale has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Dale's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Dale is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gusta is defending well for now.

Dale lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Gusta backwards.

Dale breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dale wants to clinch up but Gusta keeps it at a distance.
Dale throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Gusta stumbling backwards into the cage! Gusta bounces back off the cage towards Dale, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Dale lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Dale celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Philip Dale!
After winning the bout, Philip Dale thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
