The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vorobiov gets the takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Vorobiov working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Vorobiov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear V U C K O down.

It looks like Torino V U C K O has been cut.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
V U C K O manages to get back to half guard.
V U C K O is trying to get back to full guard.
V U C K O trying to hold on to Vorobiov's head to control him but Vorobiov postures up.
Vorobiov is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
V U C K O is staying active underneath Vorobiov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
V U C K O is pressing down on Vorobiov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now V U C K O is on top in guard.
Vorobiov has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Vorobiov wants to stand but V U C K O is controlling the position.
V U C K O throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

V U C K O looking to pass the guard.
V U C K O passes Vorobiov's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
V U C K O thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vorobiov's head.
Vorobiov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with V U C K O. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
V U C K O not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
V U C K O is looking to take a break and control but Vorobiov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vorobiov kicks V U C K O off and gets back to his feet.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida tries to bum rush Rold with a series of wild strikes but Rold uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rold misses with a looping left.
A head kick misses from Machida.
Horrible takedown by Rold or perhaps it was just good defense by Machida which made him look bad.
Machida tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Machida throws a series of punches but Rold avoids them all with ease.
Machida throws a sloppy head kick
and Rold makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Machida lands a really nice looking cross but Rold seems unphased.
Machida paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Machida will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rold feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Machida's calf.
Machida takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Rold.
Machida throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rold counters with a stiff right hand.

Machida is rocked!
Machida is breathing heavily.
Rold misses with a takedown attempt - Machida sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Machida dodges the punch combination from Rold.

Rold drives through with a takedown into Machida's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Machida keeping moving, preventing Rold from controlling successfully.

Rold drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rold jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Machida wants to get back to his feet but Rold is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rold passes Machida's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Machida looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rold trying to mount his opponent but Machida defends it.

Rold passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Machida!
Machida holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Rold tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Rold is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Rold extends the arm and Machida is forced to tap!

and Guz counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Alfonso thinking.

Alfonso moves to clinch but Guz breaks away
and Guz counters with a nice uppercut.
Jimmy Alfonso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Guz counters with a one-two to the body.
Alfonso wants to clinch but Guz slips to the side

and Guz counters with a crisp right hand that drops Alfonso! Guz lets Alfonso back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Guz throws a pinpoint strike between Alfonso's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Alfonso crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Guz scores a great knockout victory!

and PhoQus counters with a nice uppercut.
Gloin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A jab lands there for PhoQus.

It looks like Gimli Gloin has been cut.
PhoQus steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gloin.
PhoQus keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gloin.
PhoQus smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Gloin looks to throw the jab but PhoQus is out of range.
Gloin fails with an attempt to clinch.

Nice uppercut there from PhoQus.

Gloin is rocked!
PhoQus dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oh Gloin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gloin is breathing heavily.
PhoQus throws an uppercut from hell that sends Gloin clean off his feet! He's out cold! PhoQus stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.

Creston gets tackled into the cage by Jonsen. Jonsen maintains the clinch.
Creston blocks a body shot from Jonsen.
Creston tries to break free but Jonsen pushes him back against the cage.
Jonsen using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Creston has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Creston breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sarmith Creston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jonsen slips under a jab.
Jonsen will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Creston shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jonsen napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jonsen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jonsen dodges the ground and pound from Creston.
Creston has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jonsen is looking to reverse the position.

Creston is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jonsen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Creston happy to just control the position for now.

Jonsen wants to get back to his feet but Creston is dominant here and he's now got Jonsen's back!
