The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decampo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Decampo shoots in looking for a takedown but Gurgel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Decampo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gurgel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gurgel wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raul Decampo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Gurgel counters with a left and a right that stings Decampo.
Decampo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Decampo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gurgel circles away.

and Gurgel counters with a nice low kick that buckles Decampo's knee momentarily.
Gurgel tries to clinch up but Decampo circles away and keeps his distance.
Decampo shoots in and drives through. Gurgel sprawls well.

Gurgel lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Decampo blocks a head kick by Gurgel.
Gurgel cracks Decampo with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Decampo tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Gurgel pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Decampo is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
