The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendricks throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Law closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hendricks to the mat! Hendricks manages to get full guard.

Law drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Law jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Law is in close to Hendricks's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson shoots in looking for a takedown but Smith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nelson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Smith works over Nelson's head and body with a nice combination.
Nelson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith sprawls well. Smith wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nelson gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Nelson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Smith shoots for a takedown but Nelson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Smith throws a head kick that misses.

Nelson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
