Maher works Sebastian's body with a nice hook.
Sebastian looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sebastian with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Maher to score with a decent uppercut.

It looks like San Sebastian has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Maher lands a left and a right that send Sebastian crashing to the mat, dazed. Maher thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Maher Throws a clean left jab. Maher Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Sebastian's chin! Sebastian crumbles to the ground and Maher follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Maher!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lakunen shoots in looking for a takedown. Banks tries to sprawl out of it but Lakunen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Banks manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lakunen tries to close the distance and clinch but Banks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lakunen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Banks circles away.
Lakunen gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Banks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kalizhnikov dives in looking to finish as Calvancante flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Kalizhnikov's strikes! Kalizhnikov is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Calvancante's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Calvancante was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Tyler is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Shady can't fight it off and eventually Tyler manages to take the fight to the floor. Shady looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tyler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shady swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Shady got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tyler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shady has managed to get both his arms back between Tyler's legs - danger averted.
