The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight throws out a leg kick but Melton Sr moves out of range and Knight only half commits.
Melton Sr misses with a body shot.

and Knight counters with a body kick that stops Melton Sr in his tracks momentarily.
Knight walks into a left hand.
Melton Sr scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Knight throws the left hand but Melton Sr avoids the punch easily.

Knight rushes Melton Sr and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Knight misses with the head strike.
Melton Sr pressing his opponent against the cage.
Knight blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Knight misses with a body punch.
Melton Sr lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Melton Sr blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ankutse fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Arabi, pushing him back against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Ankutse tries to pull guard but Arabi forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Arabi prevents a body shot from Ankutse.
Ankutse keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Arabi's efforts to push away.
Ankutse tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Arabi's elbow.
Ankutse lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Ankutse wants a takedown but no success here.
Arabi tries to throw a body punch but Ankutse avoids it by throwing Arabi back against the cage.

Arabi breaks the clinch.
Ankutse with a poor takedown
and Arabi makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aadilou Ankutse. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Arabi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Arabi counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ankutse shoots in looking for a takedown. Arabi tries to sprawl out of it but Ankutse keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Arabi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Aadilou Ankutse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Arabi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Arabi wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Ankutse keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Arabi's efforts to push away.

Ankutse gets control of Arabi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ankutse will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Arabi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Arabi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Arabi trying to control the position from guard on top but Ankutse is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Arabi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ankutse escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Arabi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Arabi wants to pass the guard but Ankutse is keeping the position.

Arabi decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ankutse, up you get!
Nice takedown defense from Arabi. No joy for Ankutse on that attempt.

Arabi clinches up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ankutse tries to work over Arabi's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A nice left hand lands by Arabi.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Arabi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Arabi feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Ankutses jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Arabi closes the distance and clinches.

Ankutse walks into a stiff left hand from Arabi.
Ankutse gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Arabi counter with a right hand.
Nice takedown defense from Arabi. No joy for Ankutse on that attempt.
Ankutse shoots in for a takedown but Arabi shows good takedown defense.
Arabi lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Arabi keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Arabi rushes Ankutse and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Arabi tries to break free but Ankutse pushes him back against the cage.

Arabi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ankutse slips under a jab from Arabi.
Ankutse moves out of range of the strikes.

Arabi takes the fight into the clinch.

Ankutse has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Arabi uses from the top position.

Arabi drops back looking for a leg! Ankutse is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ankutse manages to kick Arabi off! Arabi jumps back into Ankutse's guard.

Ankutse looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Arabi is defending well. Ankutse quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Arabi has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Ankutse celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

A relieved looking Aadilou Ankutse thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
