The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Down feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Coelho wants to get back to his feet but Down is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Down thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Coelho wants to stand but Down is controlling the position.

Down drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Down jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Coelho pushes Down off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Coelho moves in looking to clinch but Down pushes him off.

Down lands a jab-cross combination.

Down gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Coelho to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Coelho missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Coelho throws a big elbow that misses.
Down preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Coelho is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Down has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Coelho is looking to defend but Down has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Coelho! Down pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Coelho taps out and this one is all over!

Fay fails with the takedown
and Magnus counters with a nice kick to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Magnus. No joy for Fay on that attempt.
Magnus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Sampaio throws a shot from downtown. Lee moves away and avoids it.

Sampaio is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lee.

Sampaio takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Oh Sampaio is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sampaio is breathing heavily.
Lee lands with a big right hook that stumbles Sampaio - he's out on his feet here! Lee follows up with another monster hook that separates Sampaio from consciousness! Sampaio falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Lee stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

A relieved looking James Lee thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
