Andre James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pavement gets caught napping as James dives in and scores a takedown. Pavement manages to retain guard.

Pavement is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but James pulls his head out easily.

Lightning shoots in but no luck this time.
Venho ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lightning moves away.
Venho throws a sloppy head kick and Lightning moves out of range easily.
Lightning circles away from the clinch attempt.
Venho closes the distance looking to clinch
and Lightning decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Venho's guard.
Lightning stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Venho swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lightning slips nicely into half guard.

Lightning seems to be looking for submissions.

Venho tries to roll over but Lightning keeps him under control.

Lightning is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Venho is just riding it out for now. Lightning eventually gives up the hold.
Lightning seems to be working for a kimura but Venho defends the submission attempt.

Venho really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lightning. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Benson sends Turk crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Benson is motioning to the referee to let Turk up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Turk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kantola has an Americana. Stevenson didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Kantola is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Kantola hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

A very excited looking Ari Kantola rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Macab cracks Abbot with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Macab throws a left and a right that both miss
and Abbot counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Macab misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Macab tries to clinch
and Abbot makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Abbot. No joy for Macab on that attempt.
Macab throws a hook but Abbot blocks it.
Abbot bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Macab's head.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Macab lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Abbot has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Abbot and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Macab misses with an uppercut
and Abbot counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
