Michaels throws a series of punches but Murakami avoids them all with ease.
Murakami shoots in for a takedown but Michaels shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Murakami tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Michaels counters with a good low kick that Murakami was not able to check.
Murakami shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Murakami throws a head kick that misses.
Michaels throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and as Mccarry loses concentration momentarily, Asashoryu counters with a picture perfect head kick! Mccarry goes down, out cold! The referee rushed in to check on his condition - I'm sure he'll be ok but that was a massive knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Yokozuna Asashoryu!
Yokozuna Asashoryu very nearly forgot to thank Brute amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kami closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Kami is working for a kimura but Mouse is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kami is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mouse sees it coming and defends easily.
Mouse moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Kami postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mouse is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kami, into his guard.
