The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mattus jumps guard but The Punching Machine stands there with Mattus around his waist. Mattus gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mattus avoids a wild elbow strike from The Punching Machine.
Mattus tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. The Punching Machine smiles and moves away.
The Punching Machine misses with a head kick.

The Punching Machine tries to bum rush Mattus with a series of wild strikes but Mattus uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Knuckles leaves Ducase with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ducase misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Knuckles.
Alain Ducase seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knuckles throws a head kick that misses.
Ducase lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Knuckles circles away quickly and effectively.

Knuckles got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ducase has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Knuckles has managed to get both his arms back between Ducase's legs - danger averted.
