Timo Salonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Powers counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Salonen off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Powers follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Salonen was out before he hit the floor.

Rutten unloads a knee to the mid-section. Stenner lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Rutten throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Stenner stalling in the clinch but Rutten improves position.
Stenner tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rutten's elbow.

DJ Stenner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopette throws a looping overhand right but Gronvall ducks down to avoid it.

Lopette rushes Gronvall and presses him up against the cage.
Lopette tries to circle away but Gronvall has him pinned against the cage.
Lopette is leaning against Gronvall and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Lopette misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Lopette using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gronvall has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Lopette misses with the head strike.
Gronvall wants a takedown but no success here.
Lopette scores with a shot to the side of Gronvall's head.
Gronvall changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lopette fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Lopette clinches up against the cage.

Lopette swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Lopette escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lopette throws a head kick that misses.
Lopette lands a leg kick that knocks Gronvall off balance momentarily.
Gronvall blocks a head kick by Lopette.
Lopette lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Lopette throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gronvall ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Lopette fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gronvall looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Lopette cracks Gronvall with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Lopette pushes Gronvall up against the cage in a clinch.
Lopette tries to throw a body punch but Gronvall avoids it by throwing Lopette back against the cage.

Lopette's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gronvall checks a leg kick.
Gronvall has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Lopette.
Bornas Lopette is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lopette works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Lopette lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gronvall's sensitive parts.
Gronvall is breathing heavily.

Gronvall has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lopette finds it's way round the side to connect with Gronvall's head.
Lopette misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gronvall blocks a head kick by Lopette.
Lopette feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gronvall's calf.
A chopping leg kick lands by Lopette.
Gronvall takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lopette, right into the meat.
Lopette feints and then cracks Gronvall's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gronvall down.

Gronvall bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Lopette fakes the leg kick and cracks Gronvall in the body.
Gronvall gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Lopette points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Gronvall wakes up just in time to hear Lopette thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

During a confident post fight interview, Bornas Lopette thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

Sackett digs a good hook to Cruguel's body.
Sackett looks to score with a jab to the body but Cruguel is just out of range.
Sackett misses the body punch
and Cruguel counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sackett misses with an uppercut. Cruguel saw that one coming.
Sackett lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cruguel circles away quickly and effectively.
Cruguel takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

It looks like Steven Cruguel has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sackett fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Sackett looks to land a left hand but Cruguel moved out of range nicely.
Sackett misses with a combination
and Cruguel counters with a stiff right hand.
Sackett cracks Cruguel on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Cruguel falls backwards against the cage. Sackett follows up with more strikes that drop Cruguel to his knees. Sackett keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Cruguel! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Parmalee Sackett!
