The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laranja turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Laranja closes the distance and clinches.

Laranja has Fire pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Laranja pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Fire tumbling to the mat - Laranja dives into Fire's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Laranja lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Fire is looking to stand up but Laranja isn't so interested in that idea.
Laranja pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fire is keeping the position for now.

Laranja drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fire manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Laranja has Fire in his guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fire with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Fire is posturing up here but Laranja has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Fire tries to roll out but it's too tight and Fire has to tap! Slick submission there by Laranja!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strife throws a push kick but Fay slaps the foot to one side.
Fay misses with a body shot.
Fay connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Strife momentarily.
Fay steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Strife.
Fay scores with a crisp jab that stopped Strife in his tracks.
Strife pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Strife keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Fay.
Fay rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Strife moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Strife thows a body shot but no joy.
Fay looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Strife lands a left and a right that send Fay crashing to the mat, dazed. Strife thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Maguila Fay has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
No joy there for Strife, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oh Fay is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Strife steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Fay is out on his feet! Strife sets himself and nearly takes Fay's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Zuma has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Slaughter uses from the top position.
